Bas Agterberg is curator at the Netherlands Institute of Sound and Vision.He is responsible for organizing knowledge transfer of the audiovisual collection of Sound and Vision. Universities, The Institute initiates and participates in research projects with Universities, Archives and Academies. Results are presented at (Film)festivals, manifestations, seminars and exhibitions.
Bas Agterberg studied Film and Television at Utrecht University and Glasgow University. He was assistant Professor at Utrecht University and producer for feature films of Jos Stelling. Bas Agterberg published articles and edited several books, for instance on the History of Cinema in the city of Utrecht in Sensationele voorstellingen en passend vermaak (2009) and the History of audiovisual media in the Netherlands in ‘Een eeuw van beeld en geluid’ (2012). For Sound and Vision he produced DVD-boxes in a series the Dutch Documentary Collection of acclaimed filmmakers such as John Appel, Herman van der Horst en Heddy Honigmann. For putting the collections of Sound and Vision in context he developed a wiki with a small team. The Beeld en Geluidwiki is open for a general public to participate (www.beeldengeluidwiki.nl).
