Dr. Fares Kayali

Fares Kayali is a researcher, lecturer and game designer based in Vienna, Austria. He holds a PhD in computer science from the Vienna University of Technology and his interests include design, HCI and game studies as well as the relation between music and interactivity in games and media art. His publications have been presented at international conferences in Tokyo, London and Sofia and he produced and designed the award-winning iPhone game “Radio Flare” founding studio radiolaris, now Broken Radio Games, in the process. He’s currently teaching courses at the University of Applied Science Vienna and the Danube University Krems and working as an academic advisor to SAE Institute and Middlesex University. He also holds two positions as a post-doctoral researcher; the first in a joint project between the Institute of Media and Communication Studies (University of Vienna) and the Institute of Design and Assessment of Technology (Vienna UT). The second project, Pervasive Prosumer Play, is based at the University of Applied Arts Vienna.
